Every person in the Trenches Law family is important to us, which is why we’ve decided to introduce you to a different member of the team each month – so you can learn more about them.
In this Q&A, we’re finding out more about Joanne Warner, our wayleave administrator. Find out what she loves about the office, the most satisfying moment of her career and which staff member she would nominate for an award…
Summarise your role in one paragraph
I’m responsible for the acquisition and negotiation of wayleave agreements, dealing with all functions and activities required to ensure that the documents are signed as requested.
Ultimately, this enables the operators to build the network – which in turn means better broadband connectivity for a particular geographical area.
What is your favorite part of your position at Trenches?
Being part of such a supportive and productive team! I also really enjoy the task of investigating and getting to the bottom of who owns the land for which the wayleave is required.
Which one word do you think your colleagues would use to describe you?
What word do you think best describes Trenches Law?
What’s been the most satisfying moment of your Trenches Law career so far?
The part I have played in obtaining signed wayleaves and enabling network build across local areas as a result. I’m still fairly new to Trenches Law and another highlight for me has been fitting in well with the existing team.
What do you love about the office?
We are very fortunate to work in a beautiful converted barn set on an idyllic farm with wonderful views, it makes it a pleasure to go to work. The office is bright, spacious, and well-equipped for all our needs.
If one of your colleagues could win an award (industry or office-related) who would it be and why?
Sarah Gower – for making me feel like part of the team when I first started and showing me the ropes in the office. Sarah often helps me out with a particularly large customer account and keeps the office running smoothly at all times – she’s been a great support during lockdown too.
What are your hopes for Trenches Law in the coming year?
To continue with our ongoing successes in terms of growing the business and our reputation. Trenches Law is an ambitious and dedicated law firm specialising in obtaining Code Powers and wayleaves, as well as telecoms law, that has successfully recognised a gap in the market for its specialism and expertise – I’m extremely proud to be part of the ‘family’.
